Veterans’ resources continue to expand here in Harford County, as well.
Project Opportunity, a 10-week veteran entrepreneur program, launched
in 2021 and has been expanding its success ever since. Community and
business leaders serve as guest presenters, registrants provide a business
pitch, and the course culminates in a graduation ceremony. A military spouse
entrepreneur course has been added to its programming, as well. Learn more at
https://www.project-opportunity.com/.
Additionally, in April 2022, the Mid-Atlantic Veterans Business Outreach
Center (VBOC) launched in Harford County. VBOC provides business and
entrepreneurial support services to active-duty personnel, veterans, service
members transitioning out of the military, reservists, and military spouses.
Services offered include training and workshops, counseling, mentorship,
referrals and educational programs. Learn more at https://midatlanticvboc.com.
Finally, the Harford County community supports veterans and their families
through various events and initiatives. The Harford County Chamber of
Commerce honors Military Appreciation Month with its annual Military
Appreciation Luncheon in May at Top of the Bay to support local soldiers.
