Dear Friends,
Harford County is honored to support our nation’s armed forces and
defense community. As an Army veteran, I know the importance of the
mission to protect our freedom and way of life. As county executive, I
am proud that we are home to Aberdeen Proving Ground and excited
about the economic opportunities ahead.
To capitalize on these opportunities, I brought former CECOM DCG Larry
Muzzelo into my administration with an office on post. He is working
closely with Economic Development Director Karen Holt to advance our
efforts inside and outside the APG gates.
My administration is also working to increase the 100 defense
contractors already here in Harford County, and to attract and support
businesses that can commercialize the technologies developed at APG.
Our goal is to foster innovation and economic activity that improves the
quality of life for residents in Harford County and beyond.
Veterans can play a vital role in this effort. The discipline and mission-
focus of military service prepares veterans for success as entrepreneurs.
Those who would like to start or grow a business in Harford County will
find support from my administration.
Whether or not they go into business for themselves, Harford County
values our veterans and their families and offers resources through our
veterans’ commission. I encourage all veterans to visit
