At BARCStoberfest, you can run or walk as a team with your four-legged friend, just as yourself or with your fundraising teammates. Here’s how you do it:
5K Race:
Participants in the 5K must register through RunSignUp.com The race fee is $50, which also includes an ultra-soft commemorative T-shirt, a doggie bandana, and a free drink in the dog-friendly beer garden.
1-Mile Walk:
Participants must first register on the BARCStoberfest site and create a fundraising page. Collect or donate at least $50 to take part in the walk. You must meet the $50 minimum fundraising requirement by the morning of the event. Walkers also receive an ultra-soft T-shirt, a doggie bandana, and a free drink in the dog-friendly beer garden.
SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY
7:30 am: Registration/check-in opens for the 5K Race and 1-Mile Walk
9:00 am: 5K Race and 1-Mile Walk begins
9:30 am – 2:00 pm: Festival opens (food trucks, shopping market, kids’ tent, adoptable pets, etc.)
10:00 am: 5K awards @ the main stage
10:00 am – 3:00 pm: Beer garden opens (and live music too!)
12:00 pm: Howl-O-Ween pet costume contest @ main stage
2:00 pm: Festival concludes
2:30 pm: Last call in the beer garden
Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest
The Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest will take place at 12:00pm on the main stage.
Donate $10 to participate and choose one of the following categories to enter:
Best Pair (one human + one pet)
Best Group (multiple humans and/or pets)
The Best Halloween Theme (classic costume)
Please register online to secure your spot. Only 20 spots are available per category. Any remaining spots will be available at the festival, but we encourage you to snag one now!

Dog-Friendly Beer Garden with Music
Get your paw-ty on with an all-inclusive wristband for the beer garden for $40. Individual drink tickets will also be available for purchase. Registered walkers and runners will receive a FREE drink in the beer garden (or a special treat for our younger crowd) and can make an additional upgrade to the all-inclusive wristband if preferred.
Note: dogs are allowed in the beer garden, but only one dog per person. NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES. We want the beer garden to be a safe, enjoyable time for everyone, canines included.
